Ruth Masters, 83, leans on her hiking pole among towering cedars and fir trees in the 18 acre "Masters Greenway and Wildlife Corridor" behind her home, an area she donated to the regional parks in Courtenay, BC. Masters, who has climbed up the Comox Glacier in Strathcona Park on Vancouver Island six times since 1938, would like to see the trail to the glacier protected from logging and development. Timber West intends to heli-log the land over which the trail passes.
